Acer palmatum
Kin Pai originated as a variegated sport on Osakazuki, as its name literally translates to that. The shape of each leaf is different, but each lobe fattened in the middle and gently twisted. Beautiful color transitions occur in the Spring when it first breaks bud, often edges in red or brownish red with occasional pale green or yellow. Fall is very nice also. A slow, steady, shrubby grower.
