Amazing upright variegated maple. Very old cultivar from Japan. Name may translate to Umbrella Mountain. Buds unfurl like yellow krinkled popcorn with bright pink sheaths. The leaf ages to a krinkled shape with a broad white outline. In cooler Springs, the white may have a pink tone also. Fall colors are electric combinations of pink, orange, and red.
