Kamisaka Nishiki

Acer pictum

About

This variety is a spectacular blending of white and off white swirls in pale green foliage. While this is supposed to grow up to a foot a year, but because my plant is heavily variegated, it is considerably slower. This also has a distinctive pencil edge of pink in the white areas when it first emerges. Kamisaka can refer to a god or deity slope. I wonder if this could refer to a sacred snow covered mountain top, since this has white variegation.
